The Nebekers
Lionel is the son of Vern Leroy & Maxine Nebeker. He grew up in the small town of La Grande, OR with many extended Nebeker cousins nearby. His parents had a large family of 9 children, whom they faithfully raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He served an LDS mission in Northern Germany (now called the Germany, Hamburg Mission) from 1969-1971, and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1974.
He met his beautiful wife Bette McDonald in a BYU ward they both attended, and were married in the Salt Lake Temple, 7 June 1974.
They love being with their family, researching genealogy, teaching, doing Temple Work, & spending time outdoors. They are currently serving in a Young Single Adult ward, and love serving together.
Bette is the youngest of 5 children born to Donald & Irene McDonald. She grew up in Portland, Oregon in a Catholic home.
At the age of 16, Bette joined the LDS church, and later attended BYU where she met Lionel.
Lionel & Bette have 6 children and 17 cute grandchildren (as of March 2012).
